President and Founder Jason Phillips
CEO Jason Phillips is a nationally certified appraiser through the International Automotive Appraisers Association (I.A.A.A). Prior to founding Auto Appraise in 1991, Jason worked as a Michigan Certified Mechanic and as an Insurance Adjuster for Hagerty Insurance, while maintaining his original passion and hobby as a restorer of classic cars.
As a qualified expert appraiser, he has provided expert witness testimony throughout Michigan and the United States, in front of juries and by remote deposition. He has also served as a court appointed Umpire in arbitration/mediation cases to settle valuation and automobile damage disputes. He ensures that our clients’ vehicles are thoroughly inspected and accurately depicted in our reports, and personally oversees the research and market valuation of each vehicle we appraise nationally. In addition to detailed condition reports and appraisals, Jason is considered a “numbers matching” expert and has been hired to inspect and authenticate Shelbys, Corvettes, and other rare classic cars throughout the United States.
